I’ve completed multiple projects that showcase my ability to research people and neighborhoods, develop compelling narratives, and write for the public in various forms. View my bylines page for my written clips.
I am co-leading research and writing for public signage about a historic Black neighborhood in College Park. To understand and write about the community, the funeral home, churches, and schools I am researching, this project has involved archival research, oral history, community engagement, and curatorial writing.

As a curatorial intern at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, I pitched, researched, developed historical narratives, and wrote interactive exhibit content about Black basketball players for Breaking Barriers: Games Changers in Black Basketball. To complete this work, I conducted archival and secondary research and gained curatorial writing skills.

I founded The Black Sportswoman as a history-focused multimedia platform dedicated to Black women athletes. Through this publication, I engaged thousands of readers, built revenue – through memberships, products, and strategic content – and managed content development. Since I built the publication from scratch, I conducted audience and market research, developed editorial strategies, and maintained the content calendar. Check out the YouTube channel here. Read my stories on Peruvian women’s volleyball and how to support Black trans sportswomen.

I conducted an oral history with the founder of the Chattahoochee Brick Company Descendants Coalition (CBCDC)and did historical research. For this project, I developed website and social media content about CBCDC’s mission and impact statement and the historical narratives about convict leasing at the Chattahoochee Brick Company.

For my Intro to Heritage Preservation Course, I researched and analyzed the history of a downtown Atlanta block, tracing its built environment through historical documents and secondary sources. With the skills learned in this class, I am now able to research the history of a building or neighborhood.

While at the AJC, I worked primarily on the politics team as a podcast producer, but I also worked as a digital producer and contributed as a reporter. I built and launched The Atlanta Journal-Constitutions’s first politics podcast, growing it to over 500,000 downloads within 8 months. I managed the podcast from end-to-end while contributing stories to the paper’s Black History Month, Women’s History Month series, politics vertical, which led to multiple front-page stories. As a producer, I trained hosts, reporters, and stakeholders on best on-air performance practices. I also developed pitch materials that secured buy-in for new podcast initiatives.
